The Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order was established on January 17, 1882 at Birmingham Southern College. We have since proudly served the Birmingham, Alabama, community since that founding date and continue to strive to be modern day gentlemen on a daily basis.
The History of Kappa Alpha Order
A Moral Compass for the Modern Gentleman
Kappa Alpha Order, also known as Kappa Alpha or KA, was founded in 1865 at Washington College in Lexington, Virginia. Since our founding date, Kappa Alpha Order had grown into 116 active chapters reaching across the United States, initiating over 150,000 members. The Order's symbolic colors of crimson and old gold represent the blood spilled and the money spent defending our country. Kappa Alpha Order members pride themselves on our academics, values, and brotherhood.
